Whatever your reason for temping, and for however long you’re available,
we aim to make your time with us an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Our temporaries enjoy well-paid and varied assignments with accrued holiday
pay and incentive schemes. We operate an equal opportunities policy and will consider candidates
on the basis of suitability and compatibility of their skills and experience.
We do not discriminate against people on the grounds of sex, marital status,
ethnic origin, disability or age. Before your assignment and at the beginning of each week, we’ll issue you with a timesheet, which you’ll need to complete and submit on a weekly basis. At the end of the week, your supervisor or manager at your assigned company must sign the completed timesheet and you must either fax or post it back to Tact Personnel (contact us) by 10am on the Monday of the following week. Be warned! Failure to do so may result in late payment. The submission of your timesheet is your responsibility. In order to make your payment as trouble-free as possible, you should be aware of the following –
You’ll be paid one week in arrears directly into your bank account on a Friday, and you’ll receive a pay slip through the post. In the absence of bank account details, a cheque will be sent through the post. We are legally obliged to deduct National Insurance from your pay, so we require your N.I. number, which you can find on your P45 or an old pay slip. Holiday pay – As a Tact Personnel temporary worker, you’re entitled to 20 days holiday per year, pro rata, qualifying from the day you start your assignment. However, you can only take holiday you have accrued. Holiday accrue even if you only work for part of the week and is calculated based on an overall average - please establish your entitlement with your consultant. Maternity benefits – there are a number of rules and regulations relating to Statutory Maternity Pay. The best person to speak to is your consultant; they’ll explain everything you need to know and, if you qualify, will give you the necessary forms to complete. The more we know about your movements, the better your chance of working regularly, so please keep in touch!
Mobile phones – during working hours, phones should be switched off. Email – if you have access to an internal email system, it is imperative that this system is used for business purposes only. Punctuality – please ensure you’re at your workstation at your start time and raring to go! Absence – if you are unable to go to work, please let your consultant know first thing so we can inform the client. Could you also call us at 4pm on the same day to let us know if you’ll be available for the next day. Confidentiality – at no time, either during or following your assignment, may you use or disclose to any unauthorised person, any confidential information relating to the business affairs or trade secrets of your assigned company. Failure to adhere to this policy could result in legal action. Overtime – at times you may be required to work overtime. If this is the case, your consultant will let you know and will advise if the pay rate will differ. Smoking – the majority of our clients operate a no smoking policy. If in doubt, please ask your consultant.
